Elnorra learned to open doors today. I first panicked and thought about getting doorknob covers, then a few days later I realized that I shouldn't panic and that I should be grateful for all the things she can do now. I can ask her to go wash her hands and she can: open the door, climb on her stool, turn on the water, use the soap, turn off the water, dry her hands and then close the door. She is an independent kid and is also a very careful child so I decided to trust that her intellectually maturity is growing along with her physical abilities. We, of course, still have the house mostly baby-proofed with chemicals and medicines out of her reach, but her "reach" just made it to the entire house instead of the controlled space she was in before.
